Conkers

Conkers is an Enhanced Resource Provision for children with Special Educational Needs. We provide a safe, nurturing and supportive environment in order for our children to flourish. The aim of Conkers is to provide targeted support which enables children to make progress, and where appropriate continue to access the mainstream curriculum while being provided with specialist support. Those specialists services may include a Speech and Language Therapist (SALT), Educational Psycholgist (EP), Paediatrician or an Occupational Therapist (OT). 

Our fundamental goal is to ensure that our children are happy and that well established relationships are formed with staff. Our staff working with the children in Conkers are dedicated, highly skilled and knowledgeable. We offer a range of fun, stimulating and inviting lessons/activities, enabling all children to engage and learn. Children have regular access to sensory provision and they enjoy taking part in Forest school once a week. Attention Autism sessions are delivered creatively which offers an irresistible invitation to learning. Through this, children’s focus and attention skills are developed as well as having the confidence to participate. Children’s speech and language skills are supported through high level modelling, specialist support and communication symbols. We teach the importance of independence and this is encouraged through daily routine. 

We feel extremely lucky to have such an amazing resource for our Conkers children which will build the foundations for them to become life long learners.
